Red dates, also known as a jujube, is a prune-like fruit. Thick skinned and meaty with seed inside. Dried red dates, they have a chewy texture and dates are sweet with a rich, intensive caramel-like taste when they ripen. Remove seeds of red dates, steep them in hot water and drink as a tea or adding to soups / dishes to increase flavor to dishes. Dried red dates can also be eaten as they are.
