Dried mushrooms must be rehydrated first. We recommend to use room temperature water to soak them, although this will take longer compared to hot water, the latter will affect the overall taste of the mushroom. The water from soaking the dried mushrooms can be used to enhance the flavor of a soup or braising sauce or it can be added to stir-frying vegetables to prevent them from drying out. It also makes a great vegetarian/ vegan-friendly substitute for chicken stock in recipes.
